About fifteen people summoned in legal procedure
were called together in Pau court on May 20, at 2
p.m. In spite of rain many people
(all could not find a place in the court room)
came to support them.
The hearing extended until 4.30 pm. Both parties
exposed their vision of the problem. The
consideration was postponed to Friday May 28.

In Paris and in Pau the lack of
negotiation unite the movement. Seven
weeks later, they were always on strike.
At 3rd floor in La Defense Elf
tower, girls installed their sleeping
quarters in a manager’s office. They
emptied his cupboards to install a
pantry. The room beside is reserved for
meals and boys’ sleep...
In Pau, where the main body of the study
department is situated, the situation is
similar. The computer center is always
occupied. 2300 engineers and technicians
cannot work any more. Some were sent to
affiliates, in Norway or Congo, to carry
out started studies...
Everyday, Philippe Jaffré himself is
said to tear out
" dazibaos " posters
which ornament Elf tower reception hall
pillars. And everyday, strikers stick
other ones...

month, the company now launched a legal
procedure... On Thursday, the Management
called in court the salaries who occupy
Pau premises since April, 12. ELF asks
for the expulsion of the strikers and a
fine of FF 10,000 a day, against the
strikers who tried to come in for
Thursday night...

ELF EP strikers called in court
The management of ELF EP strikes back. A
lawyer came yesterday night and listed
the " damages " made
in the computer center Alpha. After the
visit came a call to court for about
fifteen strikers in Pau juridiction.
The company demands the expulsion of the
occupants " with the help of
public forces " and a FF 10,000
fine for the concerned salaries.
Called at 2 p m, the judgment was delayed
to to-morrow due to the demonstration of
hundreds of people said the Unions.
ELF salaries occupy the computer center
Alpha in Pau since April, 12. A few days
later, most of the computer facilities of
the Paris center followed. The salaries
demand the withdrawal of the plan of
1,320 jobs suppression in France. The
plan says that 300 out of 370 computer
people would go to outsourcing, or to
early retirement.
