The Unions of ELF-EP CFDT-CFTC-CGT-FO-SICTAME CGC

A RUTHLESS POLITICS

Threatening to force the path by going to the legal procedure to obtain the suppression of half of the jobs in the Company, the Management now goes unmasked.

Since the very beginning of the conflict, they compel not to find an issue, but to obtain from the Unions an agreement on their unnecessary project. Only minor details were actually open to discussion.

The Management knew perfectly that their proposal of May, 6 could not be accepted. How strikers after 25 days could suspend the strike without any guarantee of result ? The vote was nearly unanimous at Pau as in Paris : this was but a joke !

On May, 10, the Unions informed the Management of the strikers’ reaction, and asked for " further meeting designed to build new proposal from one side or the other, within the five-points scheme voted by the strikers ".

The answer for once was fast. J.L. Vermeulen rejected the proposal. Neither discussions nor negotiations. The Management now forces the path and call for a CCE, the first step in the legal procedure. We are now in the ruthless politics.

The salaries, whether on strike or not, cannot accept this.

J.L. Vermeulen stated on May, 6, that " outsourcing in not a principle but only a means, and alternatives may be examined ". Did he already forgot his own words ? As he does with the signed agreement of July, 5th, 1995 when the Management banned outsourcing for the future ?

The salaries are in no way impressed by these demonstrations, and will maintain his fair struggle for jobs and the future of the Company.

Next strike meeting at 13 p m in front of the Alpha building.
