Open mail to EEP trade unions representatives
(Mail also spread in Friday June 25. LEclair newspaper)
Too much is too much ! ! !
There are things we cannot accept. If they heap up, it becomes unbearable.
That you had attempted to have all non-strikers wear a " yellow star ", counter-irritates us.
That you speak on behalf of whole manpower, even though your general assemblies ( of strikers !) are everything but democratic, comes at least under conjuring.
You do not maintain any dialogue with manpower.
You muzzle all these you suspect of thinking otherwise than you, by intimidation when not by threatening or strength.
We accuse you of :
-intolerance, irresponsability, lack of lucidity and clearsightedness.
-intransigence and stubbornness.
-of suicide policy for whole manpower, but above all for strikers.
-to privilege your amour-propre (and it is an euphemism !) to the prejudice of your constituents interest (will there remain you anymore within some days ?)
-to practise a trade unionism that has gone.
-to kill trade unionism at EEP.
Did you loose any common sense ? We beg you, take stock.
Are you well sure that the policy you lead will induce management to obey your plans ? If you are intimately convinced of it, to the best of your knowledge and belief, very sincerely and without lying to yourselves, then go on !
But we are sure of the contrary, you mislead yourselves and you mislead us. Manpower, and strikers more than others, need you to protect them, but not to drive them against the wall.
Do not deceive anybody more by letting us beleive that you are to succeed by acting as you have been doing for more than two months.
Resume dialogue with whole manpower.
Start actual negotiations, without prerequisite, but with resolution. Philippe Jaffré wants to be succeessful - at any price - with this reorganization. Then, take advantage of this - at any price - to pull out the maximum of it for these who are to need it truly. Many people need you, besides strikers, do not leave them. You would fully play your part and you would honour us.
