RECTIFICATION BY THE UNIONS ABOUT THE SO-CALLED ACTS OF BRUTALITY OF THE JUNE 17 GENERAL MEETING
Pau, June 21, 1999
The Unions let the employee speak; he was obviously in such a state of excitement that his words were hardly coherent. The Unions tried to take the microphone away from that "speaker" and to regain control of the situation in order to protect him from unpleasant consequences, as the audience was becoming angry...
A disorderly crowding followed in which the Head of the Safety/Security Dept was unintentionally hurt.
Besides, the Head of the Safety/Security Dept himself refutes the Managements version, and he puts the blame of this unfortunate incident on bad luck.
We must re-establish the truth:
- the employee was not banned,
- there were no intentional acts of violence.
