SUD-Education strongly protests against the closing of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) decided by French government. That trade reminds that the premises are peacefully occupied by unemployed workers in fight together with teachers and students of the School. That occupation is not aiming at preventing the school from running normally, but to attract the attention of teachers and students upon the claims of the unemployed and their associations, especially concerning the increase in the minimum social compensations.
French government will not prevent the support of the staff of National Education to the unemployed in fight by closing the premises and by having it surrounded by the police.
SUD-Education requires the immediate re-opening of the ENS, and the withdrawal of the police forces that blockade the Quartier Latin (student area in the centre of Paris).
SUD-Education calls for a gathering in front of the ENS, 45 rue d¹Ulm, 75005 Paris.
Lastly, SUD-Education calls all the members of Education staff to take part in the demonstration, on Saturday 17 January to support the unemployed in fight.
